AdBlue ProductionYara produces urea, used for Air1® production, at strategically placed plants in Europe. By 2012, AdBlue consumption in the Western European market is estimated to reach 3.5 million tonnes per year. In a market which is expected to grow rapidly we have more than enough production capacity to meet the demand! To meet the exacting standards of the commercial vehicle industry, Air1® is extracted directly from the urea production process. This Prime produced AdBlue is taken from the urea production as a stream of very pure liquid. The stream of pure liquid is diluted with demineralised water and stored in dedicated bulk tanks. Each tank is batched and analysed which gives full traceability as a quality assurance certificate accompanies the product when it is distributed. This is a particularly pure method of production which guarantees to meet the high quality criteria set in the Standards of ISO 22241 and DIN 70070. Yara's production units are located at Brunsbüttel in Germany, Le Havre in France, Ferrara in Italy and Sluiskil in The Netherlands. The Sluiskil plant is the World's largest AdBlue production plant and has an annual capacity of 200,000 tonnes of Air1®.
