Statoil chooses Yara to expand its AdBlue network in Eastern Europe

Oslo (2011-05-16): Yara International and Statoil announce the renewal and extension of their AdBlue bulk retail network cooperation in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. AdBlue is a solution that works with nitrogen-oxide-reducing catalytic converters to lower harmful emissions from trucks.

The agreement makes Yara Statoil’s selected supplier for two years for its Scandinavian and Eastern Europe network –retail stations and dealerships. Overall 101 sites in Scandinavia, the Baltic states, Poland and Russia will be supplied in bulk by 2013.

AdBlue is a high quality urea solution that feeds the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) catalyst on trucks enabling them to turn harmful emissions from diesel engines into harmless water vapor and nitrogen. It allows truck drivers to meet the more stringent European Union restrictions on exhaust gas emissions that came into effect in October 2006.
